Autism Training - Diploma Program
Intended for those who work with under-5 year olds. Teaching methods include extensive use of video material, presentations, observations and internships in different settings, readings and small group discussion.
Infant Observation (2 years)
Participants do weekly observations of a baby at home to learn about normal development of emotions. Observations are discussed in class.
Clinical Seminars (2 years)
These seminars provide a consistent experience with infants and their parents or professionals working with under- 5s in a variety of settings.
Infant Research (30 hours)
These seminars are led by research psychologists and neuro-psychologists who use observations and videos to provide a systematic understanding of normal and deviant infant capabilities and development. They examine aspects of fetal life, the world of the senses, communication, temperament, individuality and attachment. These videos also explore the parents’ mental state in pediatric, neurological, psychological, social and cultural settings.
Infant Psychiatry (30 hours)
These seminars cover diagnostic classifications, exploring early temperament, different early difficulties, disorders in infancy, regulatory problems, feeding, crying and sleeping difficulties, gender differences, avoidance and depression.
Clinical Diploma in Parent-Infant Psychotherapy
This programme helps you develop clinical skills in treating parents and infants in distress. Based on psychoanalytic and other theoretical and therapeutic approaches and consulting skills.
Supplementary training will be provided for qualified psychotherapists and 4th year students in Infant Mental Health. Courses open to those who have undergone personal psychotherapy or trained in child/adult psychotherapy. Applicants can present previous experience and equivalent training while completing Infant Research and Infant Psychiatry courses.

Diploma in Early Intensive Family Programme/Treatment
Duration: 20 days + (depending of previous qualifications)

- Clinical Practice: Observing 3 cases
- Working on 3 cases under supervision
- Essay: A case, with records of sessions, discussion and conclusion using different authors relevant for the patient.
