There may be very clear signs such as poor sleep, refusal to eat, or overt clinginess for example. But what if you cannot find a way to attune to your child?
Attunement, which is a parent's ability to identify and respond to the child's emotional needs, is like a dance. It is a process of trial and error, when you as a parent learn your infant's likes and dislikes, what soothes your child and how best to comfort them.
At the Parent-Child clinic, we listen to parents' worries, fully aware that responding as soon as possible to clearly identified concerns will facilitate optimum development for the infant. A difficult child affects the entire family, for that reason we believe it is important to work with the entire family.
